The story of my blind date

I went on my blind date as planned. We decided to meet at Bugis Mrt station at about 7pm. As usual the mrt was really packed and we were all like sardines in a can. What else is new right? Anyways, of all days, that was the day that I forgot to bring my story book to work .*roll eyes*
I then decided to listen to the radio using my hp. I was not really paying attention to my surroundings cos I thought that I've reached Bugis but it's only City Hall. Kwang, kwang,kwang..... So what to do, act blurlah and stand in front of the door. After much shoving, poking and excuse me's, I managed to get out of the train when I finally reached Bugis. That day just reconfirms my belief that most, not all, people that take the train are a rude bunch. That's another story all together but back to my blind date.

Met my 2nd (Dada) & 3rd (Leen) sis there, hhhmmmm but still no sign of my "date". Let's call her Ms M. She was telling me that she is carrying a Red handbag, wearing black pants and Cream Coloured Tudung (head scarf).. After waiting for awhile, I decided to go near the Station Control and try to find her, my 2 sisters waited outside. I was about to step foot in to the station when my Dada called me. She saw someone matching that description. Should have asked Ms M to bring a stalk of rose, it will be so much easier. *smiles*

So we met... Cut the intro part and everything, we decided to go for dinner as Leen was fasting that day and need to break her fast...... Ms M wants to eat at ZamZam but Leen doesn't, coz she claimed the food was not as nice as before. She suggested Banquet or Amirah's Grille (which had shifted to the Arab Street Area).
Dengan penuh confident, Leen claimed that she's been there once before during Ramadan so she knows where it is. Fine, we followed her and off she she went like a hen leading her hot chicks (ehemm) ......
So off we went round and round Arab Street and she still could not locate where this place is...... so we walked and walked and walked.Leen wanted us to explore Arab street by foot, I guess. *roll eyes*

Unfortunately, that day, was the day that I decided to wear the most uncomfortable shoes on earth so my feet was already protesting. I was on the verge of raising the white flag. So I suggested we just eat at Samra or House of Beriani or even Tepak Sireh. But Leen was still not giving up her hopes of finding this Amirah's Grille so she told us to wait at a junction for awhile, while she walked on. We were left there in the middle of nowhere, really, it was really the middle of nowhere cos you know how deserted Arab Street can be at night, right?.... ........

We waited, for what it seems like ages..........Finally! She found Amirah's Grille.. YEAH!!! So she called me on my hp (ah, the wonders of technology) even though, she was within shouting distance. Nak act demure lah tu, konon. Cheh!!!

The food was great... And I was so full!!! I think I put on 10kgs!!!! Leen paid first..... First being the operative word here, cos it means we still owe her money. Later she go and write "OWE MONEY PAY MONEY" on our room doors or she's going to take out her black umbrella and paste on 3 white stripes on her forehead and become a chettiar(Indian word for moneylender aka loan shark) this end of the month....... hahahahah

Anyways, after dinner, Ms M requested us to follow her to a place for her gathering for E-commerce or something like that..... She was from KL, by the way. She came alone for a seminar so that is why my cousin wanted us to keep her company.

Anyways, we managed to find this place and at the door, all 3 of us did not want to enter....... Seriously, we weren't interested in this socializing cum networking cum pyramid selling stuff..... We managed to convince her that we'll be ok outside, waiting for her..... So we waited and chit chatted among ourselves. Shortly after, she came out with another person trying to talk us into coming in but we were adamant and managed to stay put outside. We were getting bored and around 930 pm being the couch potato that we are, we remembered that there's Desperate Housewives at 10pm, so Leen and Dada decided to pull out a common trick. Have to tell you though, that this trick will only work, if you are a mother. Serious, wa tak bedek lu, lah beb. So I, went in a for a few mins and told Ms M that my daughter and son is not sleeping coz they have not seen me for the day and I need to rush home... ..

So there, we managed to get out of the awkward situation very nicely.. hehehe... Kudos to us. Btw, that trick will always work provided when you are a parent lah. Won't work on bapoks or pondans, though. So said people, you better not try that trick cos it won't work. Hahaha, that's the story of our blind date.

Anybody want to organize another blind date? hiaks....hiaks....hiaks....
